Indicators (Formulas)
This routine aims at generating indicators that are based on a math formula. The variable bank (functions) is used and the constant values for setting up the formula.
The register is through the routine Configurations - Indicators, when accessing option Indicators (Formulas) a browser with the Indicators is presented.
Procedures
Adding an Indicator (Formula):
On Indicator (Formula), select Add.
The system displays the addition screen.
In an Indicator addition, you must indicate the indicator code, name, classification and formula that must have variables and/or constant values. Besides this information, you can indicate an indicator detailed description, measure unit and result format, goal to be reached in the formula calculation and indicate which parameters have fixed content in the indicator and which ones must be filled out in the query.
2. The indicator addition screen is divided in 4 folders: Formula, Evaluation Result, Parameters View and Parameters Content.
Each folder is detailed as follows.
Formula
The Formula is the main folder where you must enter the indicator formula. To generate the formula, you must add the variables or constant values, using the arithmetic operators and the parenthesis.
The added variables in the formula are indicated with the symbol ‘@’ in the beginning and end of the variable code. And the constant values are between two ‘#‘.
All variables must return a numeric value so it can be properly added in the expression.
Evaluation Result
The folder Evaluation Result is where you must enter the result measure unit, the result format (size and amount of decimal places) and the goal to the reached by the calculated value.
The expected result (goal) can be registered as follows: greater than, greater than or equal to, smaller than, smaller than or equal to, within the interval, outside the interval, equal to or different from.
In the Indicators query, the calculated value is compared with a goal and if it is not in the condition defined here, the value is in red so it is very clear for the user that operates the system.
Parameters View
The folder Parameters View is used for viewing the parameters in the variables used in the indicators formula.
In the Parameters per Variable chart, all the variables and their respective parameters are displayed.
In Parameters common among the variables, only the parameters that are presented in all the variables involved in the formula and do not have a variable are presented. These are the parameters that the users can fill out in the indicators query, as any filter that the user wants to apply must be applied in all the involved variables.
Parameter Content
The Parameter Content is used to fix the content for determined parameters and to define the parameters with mandatory completion.
In the left-side grid, the parameters with fixed content are defined in the indicator. In this part, you can fix the content for those parameters existing in only one or other variable, as it is the case of parameters AREA_FROM and AREA_TO, that are used in only one of the variables in this indicator formula.
But the mandatory parameters grid present only the parameters that are common to all variables. In this case, the parameters AREA_FROM and AREA_TO are not available to be selected.
3. Fill out the fields according to field help instructions.
4. Check the data and confirm addition.
