User Interface

Desktop interface for users that only access queries and do not make any change in DWs an/or cubes is much more simple than management interface. This simplified interface aims at enabling the user to obtain a desktop with icons of access to tables and charts.

Desktop Interface is divided into 2 menus, where: Desktop and Maintenance of Queries.

Desktop

This area is divided into two parts: The left part displays in a tree all queries that are added to user's desktop and in which the user has privilege of access.

In the middle part, there is the user's desktop, divided into three areas: My Favorites, Current Scenario, and Scenarios Registered, described below:

My Favorites

Area where queries most used by the user are. In this area, you can also create folders and links for files used by the user (for example: worksheets, text documents, etc.). Files that are referenced in favorites must be under SIGADW website address. To create files, double-click New File.

Current Scenario

It shows the scenario selected currently and all its queries and folders. To change scenario, click other scenario in the upper part of the Desktop.

Tips:

To create new folders, double-click New Folder icon. A box is displayed to enter the folder name.
To remove a folder, just drag it to the tree. Each folder can have folders and subfolders.
To place the queries you want on the desktop, just drag them from the tree to the desktop (for either Current Scenario or My Favorites). To remove them, just follow the opposite way.
For each query placed in the largest area of the desktop, two icons are created: one for the table and another one for the chart of the query dragged, if they are defined.
To transfer queries (table or chart) from Current Scenario to the area of My Favorites and vice-versa. This operation also works for folder transfer and you cannot transfer files from the area of favorites to Current Scenario.
You can also define a wallpaper for this area. For this, right-click and access the property Define Wallpaper.

Scenarios Registered: It displays all scenarios that exist on user's desktop, enabling you to create or delete scenarios (except the standard scenario).

Maintenance of Queries

In this menu, all user queries for which the user can make the maintenance are visible. Among these queries, there are queries that users created (if they have privilege of query creation) and public queries of other users.
