02. DESCRIPTION
Parameter MV_ZRADEPR determines how to handle accrued depreciation while calculating asset revaluation in the system. It configures whether, during this process, the accrued depreciation must be set to zero and whether to directly calculate the reappraisal value, without using the difference between the values.
Functionality:
- When parameter MV_ZRADEPR is enabled, the system sets accrued asset depreciation to zero at the moment of revaluation.
- Instead of calculating the revaluation as the difference between the original value of the asset and the newly reappraised value, the system directly applies the reappraisal value to the asset.
Possible settings:
- T (True): Enable the function of setting accrued depreciation to zero while calculating revaluation. In this case, the reappraisal value is entered directly, disregarding the difference with the previous value.
- F (False): Accrued depreciation is not set to zero and the revaluation calculation is performed by the difference between the original value of the asset and the new reappraised value.
Impact in Revaluation Calculation:
- With the parameter enabled (T): During revaluation, the system adjusts the asset value without taking accrued depreciation into account, so you can revalue the asset based on the new market value or on the new asset appraisal.
- With the parameter disabled (F): The system keeps the accrued depreciation and calculates the reappraisal value by subtracting the value already depreciated from the new evaluated value.
Use:
- This parameter is useful for companies that want to update the value of their assets without taking into account the accrued depreciation history, applying a new appraisal directly to the accounting value of the asset.
Example:
- If the original value of an asset is BRL 100,000 and its accrued depreciation is BRL 30,000 and you revalue this asset with parameter MV_ZRADEPR enabled, the system sets accrued depreciation to zero and the new asset value is directly the reappraised value (for example: BRL 120,000).
- If the parameter is disabled, the system keeps accrued depreciation and calculates the revaluation with the difference between the reappraised value and the depreciated value.
In conclusion: Parameter MV_ZRADEPR offers flexibility in the accounting of assets during the revaluation process, allowing companies to choose between setting accrued depreciation to zero or calculating the revaluation based on the difference between the original value and the reappraised value.
