02. DESCRIPTION

Parameter MV_ATFNAT defines how the processes that use it display ledger account values. It allows choosing between account values as per the nature of the account or system default settings.

Functionality:

    • This parameter affects how to display accounting balances and values, allowing customization depending on company preferences or accounting requirements.

Possible values:

    • C (By Account Nature): Display ledger account values based on account nature. The accounting nature refers to the account's classification (such as Asset, Liability, Revenue or Expense), facilitating analysis in accordance with this structure.
    • P (Original Default Setting of Process): Keep displaying values in accordance with system default settings. This configuration uses the default method set by the system for displaying accounting values, disregarding the nature of the accounts.

Application:

    • Companies that want to view accounting values more intuitively and in line with the nature of the accounts, such as Asset and Liability, may choose the C setting to facilitate the financial and accounting analysis.
    • The P setting is more appropriate for companies that prefer to keep the original default setting of the system or that have standardized accounting processes without the need for customized adjustments.

Example of Configuration:

    • MV_ATFNAT = C: The account values are displayed in accordance with their accounting nature, allowing a more categorized view and facilitating the analysis by account type.
    • MV_ATFNAT = P: The values are displayed in accordance with the system default setting, without specific adjustments for the nature of the account, keeping the traditional method of data display.

Importance:

    • This parameter setting directly affects how accounting reports are generated and presented, which can make it easier for various company departments, such as financials and controllership, to perform analyses.
    • It allows enhanced account categorization, depending on the need to view and analyze by accounting nature.

Considerations:

    • Companies must assess how they prefer to view their ledger accounts and their need to analyze by accounting nature before setting this parameter.
    • Configuration changes may affect how accounting reports are generated, which may require users who make decisions based on these reports to adapt.

Relationship with other parameters:

    • It may be related to other parameters that control how to display ledger accounts and balances in different system modules.
    • It directly affects report generation processes and financial analyses, providing flexibility in how to view accounting data.
