Speaking of blocks...

Blocks are sets of questions regarding a specific topic or topics, defined by a filter, which may be associated to evaluations and assessed separately, based on a certain evaluation weight.

Question blocks can be added, edited and deleted, and its versions can be managed.

The deletion option in the Topics window allows disregarding specific questions. For example, by adding a topic to the block, all specific topic questions with a certain level of difficulty can be disregarded. Alternatively, all topic questions with subtopics can be added, while only disregarding one of the subtopics.

 

Basic Path

 

01. In the main menu, click Evaluations.

02. Click the tab Manage.

03. Click Blocks.

04. View existing question blocks.

 

Alternative Paths

 

Add block

 

01. Press New.

02. In the tab General information, enter the required block information.

The requested information is:

Language
Language of the question block. To add a new language, simply click New and select the desired question block language.

Set as default language
When checked, this option determines that the selected language will be the default question block language.

Name
Name of the question block.

03. In the topics chart, click Add to define the filter of block questions.

04. In the Topics window, define the information to filter questions to be added to the block.

The requested information is:

Type
Type of action to be performed. Available options are:

  • Add: this option determines that the selected topic questions will be added to the question block.
  • Delete: this option determines that the selected block questions will be deleted from the block (i.e. disregarded questions).

Difficulty
Difficulty range to be considered when filtering topic questions to be added or deleted from the question block.

Tags
Tags to be considered when filtering questions to be added or deleted from the question block.

05. Press Add.

06. Select the inserted topic and define which questions must be shown in the evaluation.

Available options are:

  • All questions: this option determines that all topic questions will be added to the block and shown in the evaluation;
  • Selected questions: this option determines that only the selected questions will be added to the block and shown in the evaluation;
  • Random questions: this option determines that only a certain number of topic questions will be added to the block and randomly shown in the evaluation. Upon selecting this option, a field appears where the number of topic items to be added to the block must be entered. 

07. Select the questions to be added to the block if the ‘selected questions’ option is selected.

08. Press Save.

 

Release block version

 

01. Select the block whose version will be released.

02. Press Edit.

03. Click the Versions tab.

04. In versions, select the version to be released.

05. Enter the description of the new version.

06. Click Release version.

Upon selecting this option, the released version becomes the block’s current and effective version, available for evaluations.

In addition, a notification is sent to evaluation-creating users informing them of the recently released version.

 

Create new block version

 

01. Select the block for which a new version will be created.

02. Press Edit.

03. Click the Versions tab.

04. Click Create version.

05. Apply the desired question changes for the new version.

06. Press Save.

 

Cancel block version

 

01. Select the block whose version will be canceled.

02. Press Edit.

03. Click the Versions tab.

04. In versions, select the version to be canceled.

05. Click Cancel version.

Only unreleased versions can be canceled.
